There are cars as fast but there are no better cars than a Veyron, it has no competetors whatsoever. Its one of the the fastest cars in the world yet is more luxurious than a Bentley. Every componant is massively overspec'd, it is more aircraft than car in terms of engineering (costs VAG £5M to build each car). Yes anyone can add turbos to a V8 & lightweight shell (Koenigsegg, SSC etc) i guess the aprentices at VAG/Buggati could just stick 2 turbos on an Aventador & it would be smash everything.

the gtr is 900hp, plenty of street driven gtr's about with that power, they do do it, day in and day out time and time again consecutively and they only cost about $100,000, there is reason why these cars are so popular you cant bash them like that. I love the veyron for what it is but honestly there are better cars, ie; the Koenigsegg, that is a true drivers car. No traction control, regular H pattern 800+ hp and looks way better. Well thats my opinion anyway.

Each car has its own seperate timer, each timer does not start until that car sets off. This way it does not matter about reaction time or having a bad start, it just measures how long the car took to actually complete the run.

i did watch it again ..how is it that th veyron won when it was trailing the whole way to the finish.. any angle you look at it the white gtr crossed the line and had the race the whole way.. im sorry but those speed/time sensors have to be wrong its not possible that the veyron won he trailed the whole way to the finish

The skyline is just a modified car stripped out and boosted for drag runs and then cool down between runs. It drives and looks like a pile of crap. Ask him to try 3 runs in a row, there is not a chance without it overheating. With the Veyron you could do it all day long without any issues as every componant is designed to handle those speeds and stresses
